Youth Take Charge Application Deadline: August 1, 2018

The application process for funding by the Youth Take Charge Program for projects starting between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020 (or multi-year ending at latest March 31, 2022) will be in two phases:

1-      The first step consists in filling out the Expression of Interest form attached.

2-      The second step will involve only organizations who will be invited to submit a detailed application form.

The Program will assess the Expression of Interest forms received taking into account the Program objective, expected results and limited funds (see Application Guidelines). The Program will then invite organizations with eligible project proposals to submit a detailed application form.

Please note that an invitation to submit a detailed application form does not mean that the project proposal will be approved.

Please also note that, given the number of eligible projects received, the program expects to grant annual funding between $20,000 to $100,000 per project. Projects should also directly engage many youth in more than one region of a province or territory or in several provinces and territories.

(You cannot ask the Program to fund more than 75% of project eligible expenses, globally or by fiscal year.)

Funding priority may be given to projects promoting/supporting at least one of the following elements.  If your project supports these elements, please clearly articulate how it supports them in your Expression of Interest form.

–       Reconciliation – projects with a focus bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in dialogue and action, and/or highlighting Reconciliation themes.

–       Diversity & Inclusion – projects with a focus bringing together different socio-economic and ethnic groups of young Canadians, including youth from visible minority communities, new Canadians, Indigenous peoples, and youth with disabilities.

–       Official Language Minority Communities – projects engaging mainly youth from Anglophone communities residing in Quebec or youth from the Francophone communities residing outside of Quebec.

Interested organizations must send the completed Expression of Interest form by email no later than August 1, 2018 to PCH.lesjeunessengagent-youthtakecharge.PCH@canada.ca. We will acknowledge receipt of your Expression of Interest form within 5 business days after reception. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt within 5 business days, you must contact us.

Please be advised that one project cannot receive financial support from both the Youth Take Charge and Exchanges Canada programs.

We look forward to receiving your project proposals!
