Orillia opens COVID-19 assessment centre

Friday March 20, 2020

Please Note – If you think you have symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, please click this online self-assessment tool to help you determine if you need to come to the Orillia Assessment Centre before going. You can also call Telehealth Ontario at: 1-866-797-0000 or contact the Simcoe-Muskoka Health Unit at 1-888-225-7851

It is important to note that not all patients who go to the Assessment Centre will be tested. Patients will be assessed by a nurse who will make the clinical determination if a test is required based on ministry of health criteria.

The Orillia Covid-19 assessment centre is located in the Kiwanis building on Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hopsital’s campus.   Map Link

The public can access this drive-thru clinic from the Volunteer Drive entrance – please note Volunteer Drive has temporarily been designated a one-way street and the public are asked to enter from Mississaga Street. Hours: 11 am – 7 pm (The last patient will be seen at 6:30 pm).

I encourage everyone to heed the public health unit warnings and advice. Call the helplines (above) if you have symptoms and wish to get tested. We can weather this pandemic if we all pitch in.
