TSW Up-grades in Port Severn Announced
Great announcement for Simcoe North by The Honourable Maryam Monsef as the Government of Canada pledges $267 M over 5 years for capital projects along the Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW). $13.8 million will be spent on a comprehensive reconstruction/rehabilitation of many of the dams and associated assets in the northern part of the TSW, including the Port Severn Main Dam. A further $19.5 million is set aside for work north of Port Severn, in the Six Mile Lake region, while the Couchiching Lock Bridge 56 will receive repairs as part of $2.8 million for various bridge work along the TSW.
I am delighted to see that the priority of investing in the TSW infrastructure that was started by the previous government is being carried on and increased.
