Veteran’s Sunday on Christian Island
- Pleased to be with friends and Legion members at Beausoleil First Nation on Sunday for Remembrance Day events.
- Photo with Ron Gonzalez, President of R.C.L. Br. 68 Penetanguishene and members of colour guard – at the beautifully restored cenotaph on Christian Island. We attended the Service at Christian Island United Church followed by a community luncheon.
- First Nations members volunteered for service in defence of our country in numbers far beyond expectation – and have done so from the formative days of our country. Aboriginal Veterans have served both in Canada’s military and as allies, from the defining times of the War of 18112, to the present. Their military contributions were essential to Canada’s survival in earlier times.
