Canada Day events around Simcoe North

To help constituents enjoy all the fun and celebrations of Canada Day, my offices have been gathering events and activities from across our riding. While we strive to be as accurate and comprehensive as possible, please check with local organizers for details, times and locations. – Happy Canada Day. Bonne Fête du Canada.


Brechin – Bayshore

Village of Hawkestone in Oro-Medonte

Parade at 1:30pm on July 1st at bottom of 11th line, proceeding through village, ending at Hawkestone Community Hall

Community Hall Kids play area, farmers market, Canada birthday cake, and red and white strawberry social.



June 29th – 30th and July 1st , 9:00am – 8:00pm – Midland Civitan Invitational Lacrosse tournament will be taking place at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre all weekend –  Come out and cheer them on!

Midland’s Canada Day parade starts at 10:30 am along King Street from David Onley Park to Little Lake Park. Little Lake activities through the day with vendors, games, food and entertainment.

Northern Heat Ribfest & Craft Beer Market

Kids Zone, Life-Size Board Games, Backyard BBQ Games, Variety of Food & Beverage Vendors and much more!

 The Orillia Canada Day Parade starts promptly at 12 PM and goes down Mississauga Street and along Centennial Drive and disperses at the north park entrance (Jarvis Street). This parade celebrates Canada’s Birthday and Heritage. We encourage red and white, music, bands, flats, dignitaries, walking groups and animals.

CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES: All children’s activities are free including the pony rides.

ENVIRONMENTAL DISPLAYS: All of us treasure the natural beauty, resources and expansiveness of our country.

ORILLIA’S GOT TALENT: All ages, if you have 2 minute routine of your talent and you would like to perform on Canada Day we would LOVE to see it! Bring your music, instrument, or necessary props. Sign up starts at 10:00am in the Information Tent. Parents must sign consent form for anyone under the age of 18 to perform; Show time is 3 PM on July 1st



Penetanguishene Museum Event July 1

11am to 6pm – Cake, Live Entertainment, Magic Show, Bar, BBQ, Free bouncy inflatables for kids, Free face painting for kids; Free Admission

TAY Township

Canada Day Celebrations – 22nd & 23rd June 2018

Under the “Big Top”, Oakwood Community Arena,  290 Park Street Victoria Harbour.

It all starts on the 22nd June at 5:00pm with a Steak on a Bun dinner put on by the Victoria Harbour and District Lions. At 8:30pm folks will be rocking to 3 shows in 1, The Beach Party Boys (tribute to the Beach Boys), Jersey Seasons (tribute to Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons) and Johnny Gems & the Red Hot Bananas (tribute to American Graffiti)

On 23rd June starting at 12:00 noon everyone will be treated to one the best Canada Day Parades in Simcoe County. Thereafter chow down on FREE Hamburgers and Sausages graciously provided by the Wye Heritage Marina and FREE Hot Dogs by the VH Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Saturday afternoon is filled with great entertainment. Local recording artist Nick Howell” will take the stage at 2:30, followed by our The Legends Impersonator Show starring Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Tim McGraw, George Jones and Willie Nelson. Finally, prior to the evening’s entertainment, one of the best County bands in the area, “The Outlaw Sons” will take the stage.

Don’t miss the Exotic Petting Zoo, Balloon Twisters, Face Painters, Unicyclist/Juggler/Comic and a full contingent of Artisans selling their wares, Children’s Watermelon eating contest, and much more.

At 8:30PM, All the way from Montreal the tent will Totally Rock to North America’s best “AC/DC Tribute Band “21 GUN SALUTE”. The Port McNicoll Anglers and Hunters will provide Food for Both evenings and the Recreation and Culture Committee will provide pop, chips, coffee, etc.



Washago Lion’s Club Pancake breakfast – 8 am to noon – Lion’s Hall, Hamilton St. Washago

2 pm Parade through the downtown.

Live Music at Centennial Park – 10 live musical bands; 1 per hour for ten hours – runs till 10 p.m. – Beer garden nearby
